Students Beat Irish To Finish Second
By GW - May 8 2006
Scotland Students got what they deserved when they finished the Four Nations Championships with victory over Ireland. That secured a runners-up slot and completed an impressive campaign for Phil Slaney's side. >
After being beaten 30-10 by England in the opening game last Monday night at Broughton Park RFC in Salford, Scotland had the better of the clash with Wales on Thursday and were hugely disappointed to only draw 18-all with several major decisions going against them. In the final game, Scotland fulfilled their ability with an 18-10 win over Ireland on Sunday lunchtime. Five members of the Scotland squad have been selected for the Celtic XIII that plays champions England on Sunday, with the Great Britain Students squad being selected from both teams.
  NEXT FIXTURE
Scotland A v England A
VENUE
Lasswade RFC, Edinburgh
DATE
