DOUBLE: Silent Master and Days Of Pleasure

Joe Fanning has made a splendid return from injury and can find the winner's enclosure at Lingfield.

The experienced rider takes the reins aboard the Mark Johnston-trained Silent Master in the Bet Multiples - Betdaq Maiden Stakes, and looks certain to go close.

Fanning has ridden five winners from nine rides since his return to the saddle last Monday - four of which were for Johnston.

And while Silent Master may not be considered one of the sharper arrows from the Middleham powerhouse, the Cherokee Run colt should be good enough for this one.

Silent Master is still winless, and has admittedly been called a few names in the past on account of his uncanny knack to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Significantly, though, he got to within a neck of the Irish 2000 Guineas entry, Orientalist Art, over course and distance last month.

Unlucky to have come across a horse clearly destined for loftier targets, Fanning is taken to work his magic in a race which holds no similar terrors.

Days Of Pleasure stepped up on two moderate shows at Southwell when a close-up second at Wolverhampton and should win the betdaqpoker.co.uk Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

Jamie Osborne's three-year-old stayed on smartly over seven furlongs at Dunstall Park when finishing a neck second to Rio L'Oren.

The son of Fraam has been crying out for a longer trip so the decision to try a mile and a quarter appears a risk founded in common sense.

Alexander Huricane can secure a third victory at Wolverhampton in the Bet Cricket - Betdaq Handicap.

The Danetime colt, who cost 87,000 guineas at the sales but failed to see the racecourse when with Tommy Stack in Ireland, did not appreciate the kick-back at Southwell on his last outing.

He still lost little in defeat, however, with a one-length second to Soba Jones, who has subsequently won two more races.

Kevin Ryan's four-year-old returns to a trip and course which have served him so well already and it would be disappointing if he did not complete the Wolves hat-trick.

Manhattan Boy bumped into quite a decent animal at Exeter on his last start but is entitled to win the Jenkinsons Caterers Novices' Chase at Stratford.

Philip Hobbs' chestnut is slowly warming to his task over fences and turned in his best effort from three chase starts in January.

The six-year-old jumped well at Exeter but was no match for the Venetia Williams-trained Theatre Diva, who prevailed by three and a half lengths.

That rival was turned out quickly at Market Rasen and would have arguably won again had it not been for a bad mistake three out.

Rated as highly as 125 over timber - Manhattan Boy finished fifth in the Gerry Feilden in December - there is every reason to anticipate more progress from a yard that excels with these raw chasing recruits.

The Scotts Decorators Merchants Novices' Handicap Hurdle represents a prime opportunity for Daraybad to open his account in Britain.

Nicky Henderson's six-year-old has finally recovered from a broken pelvis sustained in December 2006 and patently needed the run at Kempton in January.

He was then turned out at Southwell two weeks later and showed exactly what he is made of when a good second to Jazz Dance.

With those two sighters in the bag, the extra three furlongs in this encounter should suit him perfectly.
