does anyone think we should still try to strengthen these areas? what midfield/strikers should start the season? the latest signings are a confident booster so fingers crossed.

Not having seen any of the new signings play apart from Doyle, who was excellent last season, I'm prepared to reserve judgement on the team and let them show what they can do. I agree we probably need to strengthen the team in all areas but it boils down to Directors ambitions and cash for players and as we know neither is in abundance is it ??? The fans want success for the team and the town but I'm of the opinion the directors just want to play at it. The board is stale and needs new blood and a cash injection so as soon as that is sorted out then we might see some sort of real team on the park. No disrespect to the current players in any way as they do their best but I'm sure we all know what I'm getting at.

er, we've already signed five new players and there's more to come yet.

Who d'you want the board to sign, Robinho or Luis Figo?? What more could they realistically have done re: players this summer? What other club in our league has thrown big money around to sign new players?- answer- no one, becuase there's no money for that at this level any more. We've tried the specualte-to-accumulate tactics under Shersan and they didn't work, a failure the club is still paying for.

They've made money availale to HH to sign these players and as such are doing their job. It's fine to criticise them when they're not doing a job, but unfair and misleading to do so, when they are.

I think that these positions are taken up quite well, there is a lot of compotition and enough players to fill the rolls in my eyes, i think that if we go and sighn more players then it is harder to keep the players happy that dont play and a waste of money if they dont, surely one good player on two players wage is better than two average players on average wage.

However, two average players on average wage is better than Euan Hall on any sort of wage :oD Hope he's given the chance to improve though this season.

I'm told that there is one director in particular who is trying to actually achieve something as regards players and good on him. For far too long now the board has under achieved in terms of ambition and the chairman has said in recent seasons that if there was not an improvment in gate numbers etc that the club would be in dire straits. So where has all the money come from this season to get the players of the quality they've signed ???? MFC has not been making money for a lot of seasons we all know that fact. Besides that though I'm pleased to see a real effort in getting in good quality players and wish them all the best for the season ahead. I'll be there when I'm back from working offshore so I hope we're the kicking boys and not the whipping boys.
